Nature’s defence against insects
-
100% natural insecticide active ingredient
An all-natural, effective alternative to synthetic insecticide active ingredients (syn. constituents), Australian Natural Pyrethrins® is extracted from the yellow centred flowers of the pyrethrum daisy – it is the plants’ natural defence against insects.
-
Sustainably grown and extracted in Australia
Australian pyrethrum daisies are sustainably grown by Australian farming families. The active ingredient, Australian Natural Pyrethrins®, is extracted from the flowers using a process that does not alter the natural make-up of the pyrethrins in any way, shape, or form.

Works fast to eliminate insects with low toxicity¹
Australian Natural Pyrethrins® consists of six naturally occurring molecules that have low mammalian toxicity¹ for people and pets. Natural pyrethrins attack the insects’ nervous system, knocking them down within seconds. Unlike many synthetic insecticides, the complex chemistry of these molecules makes it much harder for insects to crack their code to develop defences.

Suitable for use in edible gardening and organic farming²
Pyrethrins is an approved active ingredient for insect control in organic farming and production². Due to its low mammalian toxicity¹ and biodegradability in sunlight3, pyrethrins based products are a natural choice for home gardeners. Many pest control professionals also choose to use products containing this special insecticide active ingredient for insect control in the most sensitive environments including commercial kitchens, food processing and storage, hospitals and schools.

Long history of use in insect control products
For almost three decades Australian Natural Pyrethrins® has powered a wide range of insect control products worldwide – products backed by the world’s leading household insecticides and environmental sciences companies. However, it is believed the special properties of all-natural pyrethrins have actually been known for more than 2000 years. The flowers were originally dried and crushed to make ‘insect powder’ which was widely traded in the ancient world. Legend has it that even Napoleon Bonaparte relied on natural pyrethrins ‘insect powder’ to keep fleas and lice off his troops!
Suitable for a wide range of uses
Organic farming & production²
Pyrethrins is one of very few plant-based active ingredients approved for use in organic farming and production in the highly regulated European and North American markets². It’s the only organic compliant, fast-acting, biodegradable insecticide active ingredient that offers quick knock-down and broad spectrum control of problem insects.
Agriculture & protected cropping
Pyrethrins-based products are used for insect control in protected cropping environments like glasshouses and as a pre-harvest spray for high-value, short shelf-life crops such as grapes and strawberries. Pyrethrins knock-down common insects fast and leave no lasting residues giving farmers confidence to spray for insects up until the day prior to harvest4. 4Always read the label and follow the directions for use.
Household & garden
Around the home, Australian Natural Pyrethrins® powers a wide range of flying-insect and multi-insect-killer products for targeted pest control, while automatic insect control systems can be used to provide continuous pest protection for your family. Eco-sensitive garden sprays formulated with natural pyrethrins are perfect for insect control in ornamental and edible gardening.
Personal use
Pyrethrins are found in market leading products for eradicating nits and headlice as well as in repellent sunscreens from the trusted brands, leaving you to enjoy the Australian sunshine pest-free. The products can be applied directly to the hair and skin and offer a more natural alternative to 100% synthetic insecticide active ingredients like maldison, deet, and permethrin.
Professional & commercial
Due to natural pyrethrins’ favourable toxicology1 profile, biodegradability in sunlight3 and long history of use, many professional products contain Australian Natural Pyrethrins®. There is a huge range of products to eliminate and control pests like cockroaches, moths, flies, mosquitoes, and bed bugs in the places they like to congregate, such as food storage and processing facilities, restaurant kitchens, hotels and other commercial establishments.
Animal health
Pyrethrins are used to quickly eradicate problem insects such as fleas, ticks and mites that can cause serious harm to companion animals, livestock and poultry. On and over-animal pyrethrins-based products include spot-ons, sprays, rinses and shampoos, dusts and more.
